New York fashion week 2017 had given the glimpse of the creativity directly into clothes, hair & makeup, and most important casting. Fashion week was all about the burgundy and had soft spot for the velvet in jumpsuit silhouettes and wide- leg trousers. Whole things were intricately embroidered with a lot of lace, platoon’s worth of palettes and other lustrous and sensational embellishments that are enough to grab the attention of the audience.
This time designers showcase the feminism and love in their collection. In this blog, I have tried to wrap up the flavored collection.
All about the Burgundy:
The deep pour of burgundy was the showcase of the 1st day. The collection of burgundy-hued jumpsuits, turtlenecks, wide legged pants, and blazers were striking that left open-mouthed audience.
Soft pile fabric showcased by designer Christian Siriano includes body-hugging, floor length gown and shoulder-baring cocktail dresses in shades of orange were outstanding. Dion Lee showcased roomy track pants and zip-front puffer coat in blue hue in her collection, where Altuzarra included a saffron colored fluid velvet flounce sleeve dresses and blue velvet jackets with trouser ensembles.
The Wide –leg dresses collection:
Scott Hadid’s collection includes cropped white jackets, flair legged trousers that were belled and blossomed below the knees. Stacey Bendet’s Alice presented a collection of sequined white leg paired pants with matching shawl – collar blazer paired with the Slogan t-shirt “ Be the change you wish to see in the world”. Marc Jacobs showcased hip – hop influenced collection included dresses that floor-scrapping, super roomy track pant style trouser in khaki and burgundy.
The collection is showcased by Erin Fetherston and Ulla Johnson including stretchy black zip front number, biker jacket lapel that were embellished with a subtle floral pattern, drawstring waist and cargo pockets.
Naeem Khan also showcased the embroidery and embellishment department this season including metallic thread, grommets and customized lace designs. Khan’s collection on the final day was totally awestruck – Spanish inspired embroidered on the gown and crown like gold floral headpiece that added exquisitely intricate thread work. When the runway lights get dimmed, the collection really glided and striking.
